it's been a while...

*Sigh*

grabe... haven't updated in so long.

Saturday: Had a gig with JenSomeone at Market Market. Were supposed to do four songs but since the schedule got so messed up, we ended up doing just two. Followed Francis Magalona’s act. Sigh…

Personally I’m not a fan of rap… but to each his/her own I suppose. Still, rap is bad enough as it is but Pinoy rap? Just another way for Filipinos to emulate other cultures because they’re ashamed of their own. So annoying. Grrr…

Enough angst.

Blessings: We had a percussionist! Bombi came with his congas and rain-stick and we sounded great even though it was outdoors and acoustics weren’t that good.

Darn… gonna rant again. We weren’t really “appreciated” coz the crowd was pretty… hmmm… how do I say this nicely… unsavory. (nice na yon ha) I couldn’t help it, the sight of most of the guys there and I held my bag close to my chest, scared of it getting snatched. There was a skateboarding competition just before the bands started playing and in the Philippines skaters generally aren’t really “cool,” they’re scary. At least I didn’t look out of place. I wore punk and my Spikes (wrist cuff with inch-high spikes) were among fellow spikes.

More blessings: Didn’t get paid but got certificates to Teriyaki Boy (yumm!) so Jen and I went to the branch near her house and stayed till almost midnight. Jen, dami mo palang fans dun a! (–Chi ask her bout it!!) ^_^ We left tired and sleepy and full and satisfied.

This week, I’ve had got my some exam results back. I’m almost-definitely gonna get As with French3 and Computer Graphics Programming (PtL!!!) and got a perfect score on my last Accounting Quiz, As on Computer Architecture and MIS exams (prelims and midterms respectively). It’s not me, it’s so God. He’s stretched my time and always lets me see where I made mistakes on the exam around five minutes before we have to pass the papers. (He sure knows how to get my pulse racing!)

Oh and finished the Sumo model for my ComputerGraphics class Final Project--doing sumo wrestling game. So cute!!!

That’s it! Just want to share how blessed I’ve been. ( ‘._.’ )

i love preteena! check it out on my.yahoo.com!!!

a new week

*Sigh*

It's a new week, and it's starting out great. Thank you Lord!
My (our) Computer Graphics project went well, we finished everything required of us and got a 95/100. Yaaay!

Yesterday went to church with ChiChi at Galleria. We were supposed to attend the 11am service but Chi overslept so we just had lunch and attended the 1pm service instead. It's okay, Chi! However, it turns out that the 3pm service is not the only Tag-lish service. The 1pm service is Taglish too! So lesson learned: Go to the 9am, 11am, 5pm or 7pm services if you want it in English.

One good thing came out of it though... I learned some new words!!! Ikapu... sounds like kukurikapu. If you guys know what the second word means, laugh with me. Hahahahahargh!

Got two new HARDBOUND books for really cheap yesterday. The Left Behind Series #9: Desecration and this awesome book by Brian McLaren, A New Kind of Christian. Started reading it last night and it is good, as in SuperDuperMegaHyperGrabeTotheMax! I'm reading it through quickly and then going to chew on each chapter individually. Lots of good insights that make me think about my own faith.

I was getting scared this weekend because when i got my phone back I found out my best bud had an ulcer that could make her blind in one eye. I called her up last night and it turns out to be an eye ulcer and not a stomach ulcer. (the stomach ulcer is probable because she has gastritis) She is such a sickly person, her blood is orange for crying out loud!!! So, even though I know where she's going when she dies, I hope that doesn't happen till we're both old and wrinkly and gumming our chocolate cakes. Love 'ya Nikay!

We're planning on spending a weekend at her family's place somewhere in Trinidad to be creative (I'll bring paints and we can paint, write stories, cook our own food) and just rest. At least we have something to look forward to during these last few weeks of school left.

Oh, and on Saturday night I watched Star Runner starring Vanness Wu of F4 fame. I don't really like F4 but I do like pretty boys and Vanness is one pretty boy. It was a very blah movie, super corny. But mushy-mushy person that I am, nakilig pa rin ako. Ending was really weird though. Anyway, in the movie his character, Bond's best friend looks exactly like my brother. He even does his "confused/defensive" face.

cram time

Time to put my nose on the proverbial wheel (or is it grind stone). Just got back from a productive jam session with jenSomeone. Did one new song. My fingers kinda hurt because haven't played bass in a while...

Anyway, no more excuses left so really have to go and do some serious programming for my CG class. Brain, be prepared to turn into mush... :-p Programming till the wee hours of the morning, get up early for my Philo class (7:30) and skip MIS so i can program some more and then lead Cell Group at 12 - 1pm, then French class, then at 3 program some more.

Wheee.

busy, busy, busy

It's been one fun-filled weekend.
  • Friday: Went to Shang and watched the Terminal with Jen and Chi. Pretty good. While we were waiting we went to Rustan's and put together outfits for meeting potential Prince Charming at a cafe in Paris (fall). The budget went out the window after 10 minutes of looking. Ate pre-movie dinner at TokyoTokyo (love the red iced tea) and after the movie shared a halo-halo with the girls and had squash soup.
  • Saturday: Submitted my paintings. My acrylic painting got a little scratched. Sniff... My beloved uncle Koochie (Mark's his given name) drove me two hours to a place that would have taken me 20 minutes to get to if I had taken the train (but since i tend to get very lost very easily, I asked him to take me). He dropped me off at my cousins' place in Fort Bonifacio. Got there, no 220v electricity. Good thing the TV was 110v. God bless the inventor of cable. :-)
  • Sunday: No YOF or Galleria Sunday Service coz of Philippine Invasion. So went to church in Victory, the Fort. Ok lang. After lunch, watched Dodgeball with the cousins at Greenbelt. Funny. Then dinner at Max's. Yummy!
  • Turns out my cousins' cousin who was also sleeping over at their place accidentally got my jacket when she went home Sunday night. And my mobile was in the pocket. Sigh. Gonna get it Friday.

Right now trying to figure out my CG programming code... it's due Friday and we haven't started. Cram, cram, cram == Fun, fun, fun.

Looking forward to the Weekend

Today is the day I submit my "masterpieces" to the Competition, I'm just praying we find the place... Never been to the area where the Shell Art House is. Drats... Anyway, my room is an absolute mess. I call it creative disorder. It's terminal.
My mum called this morning, asked what my Christmas wish list was. And it's Cash. Heheheh... I'm really praying for that exchange student program to France for when I graduate. I want to go to ICAM (Institut d'Arts et Metiers) where they specialize in Engineering and where I could take Computer Engineering Courses (which is kina related to my field). Just need to raise some cash for my plane ticket (round trip), tuition to my current school for one year (it is an exchange program after all) -- tuition I'm not paying right now because I'm a full scholar (Dad's in Military and a teacher--both noble professions but neither pay well), and pocket money for the year. I'll want to be able to take a few trips to England to visit my mates, so...
The Lord will provide. He always has...
That's why I really hope I get a few buckaroos at the competition, to add to my France-fund. And I'm also scouting around for more competitions I could join. If anyone knows any comps within the next two years, please tell me!!! ^_^
It's Free-day today. I have my Weekend bag (change of trousers, four tops, and other necessaries) but I don't know yet which one of my beloved tribe-members (aunts, uncles, cousins) I will crash with. Oh well, I'll find out later.
Watching a movie with Jen (my discipler and the girl I play bass for) and some other friends. I think we're gonna see "The Terminal" although I've heard good things about the film with Nia Vardalos, where she dresses up like a drag queen with someone else (Connie and Carla?).
Then sleep and cable for the weekend! Hurrah!!!

9pm. Just finished stuff I'd rather wasn't in my To-Do List at all, namely the MIS current system study. Ugh.
And the Accounting Make-Up test. One hour was not nearly enough. Ugh.
Had an impromptu sleepover last night at Marita's house. Good thing she had a spare toothbrush. However, have not had a good night's sleep since August. I don't know why I'm still standing actually. Am operating on Coffee and ExtraJoss. God bless the genius who thought of sugar concentrate in a packet.
Seriously though, it's pure grace.
Tonight, though, I will sleep well even though I have to wake up at 6 since I have a 7:30 class. It's Philosophy too. Great class, but "deep thought" does not come easily when you're half-asleep.
At least I was able to finish my two paintings and they're both at the framer's now. Picking them up on Friday, then straight to the Shell Gallery.
I'm not expecting to win, but God always gives the best suprises, so I'm just going to be willing to accept whatever he throws my way! ^_^

Is it Tuesday or Wednesday?

9:30 am
Am running around like a headless chicken trying to find Marits. She has my painting, and my head is still operating on a Tues-Thurs timetable (with 1.5 hr classes) even though it's a Wed (1 hr classes MWF).
Will rush it to framers, but have to show it to my department heads first. Dang... Anyway, still have an hour-long accounting make-up test for Accounting (which I actually enjoy but the exams are the mother of all Hell-exams) tonight from 6-7 pm, which i have NOT studied for. Will cram later. Nikki, I need a hug!!!
Still have two ExtraJoss. God bless whoever thought of fizzy sugar concentrate in a packet. Will survive. Then will sleep. But have 7:30 class on Thursday!!! AAAAACK! And a Computer Architecture quiz on Friday!!!
...James 1:5, James 1:5, James 1:5, James 1:5, James 1:5....

It's only 10pm, it feels like 2am

Having impromptu sleepover @ Marits' house. Good thing she has a spare toothbrush lying around. Am surviving on three packets of Extra Joss in two days. Slept around 17 hours since Friday... Danged MIS project... Need Coffee. At least there's pizza lying around for later. I am a true geek (DISCS-type). I operate only on a full stomach.

work(fine);

Need Sugar... Now

I just finished my acrylic painting--entering it into a contest (Shell National Student Art Competition), so i'm dropping it off at the framers today so they can frame it and decide what color to stain the wood. i haven't finished my watercolor entry yet... hopefully by tomorrow it will be done. The paintings are due wednesday to friday, framed and dry. Lord, help!

--> because it's taken me a fortnight to cram for my painting, i've been sleeping between 2-4 am and waking up after 4-6 hours. not healthy... will get much needed snooze time this weekend... which is five days away.... sniff!

Had my "Hell Week" (which i call my Extra-Grace Week) last week: one long midterm exam, one killer Accounting exam (both for three hours each) and one French exam (not bad). Have computer graphics programming project coming up for Friday and i don't have a partner yet... it's okay. i'm one of the best in class so shouldn't be a problem. (one of the best coz half of them aren't in computer science courses). Plus i have an accounting make-up exam for Wednesday night.

Sleep is my friend. I miss him...

Been living on bread (wholewheat only) and yummy butter... easy to toast (especially for a dormer), simple to snack (toast left hand, paintbrush on right---palette on table), I think on the point of unhealthiness. Puked this morning probably from that. Not sure though. Still have three classes to go, hopefully won't feel like spewing again.
